Case Study 2 - Loren

Loren contacted us about a property she had bought 3 years and 10 months prior.  It was an additional home which needed a new bathroom and toilet. 

We dealt with her case on an urgent basis to keep within the 4 year period allowed by the HMRC to reclaim stamp duty. She provided us with pictures and invoices of the work she had done and we were able to reclaim £17,000 in refund for her with in a 4 week period.

Case Study 3 - Stewart

Stewart bought a home for himself in the country side and payed the stamp duty for ‘moving home’ which has a discounted rate for the first £250k. The property needed major improvements including rewiring, new kitchen and new bathroom.

Case Study 4 - Khan

Mr Khan had a property portfolio of 7 properties. He had bought 6 of them within the last 4 years. His portfolio consisted of buying run down properties from auction and refurbishing them to make them habitable.

After a consultation with one of our advisors he was advised that he was eligible to claim refund on all the properties. As all his properties were under £150k we were able to get him a refund on the full SDLT he paid on the 6 properties. after completing the simple process of providing us with the surveys, pictures, invoices for the multiple properties we were able to get a total refund of £24,000.
