Case Study 1 -John
John purchased an additional property as a buy to let investor. He paid £10,800 in stamp duty. The property had a leaking roof, and no central heating/boiler.

Case Study 3 - Stewart
Stewart bought a home for himself in the country side and payed the stamp duty for ‘moving home’ which has a discounted rate for the first £250k. The property needed major improvements including rewiring, new kitchen and new bathroom.
We assessed his claim and he was surprised to know he was still eligible for a refund. As his purchase price was £1.3 million, he had paid stamp duty on amount over the £250k mark on which he was eligible to claim a refund . We were able to secure him a refund of £18,000.
Case Study 4 - Khan
Mr Khan had a property portfolio of 7 properties. He had bought 6 of them within the last 4 years. His portfolio consisted of buying run down properties from auction and refurbishing them to make them habitable.
After a consultation with one of our advisors he was advised that he was eligible to claim refund on all the properties.
